Ark returns to Jerusalem
1 Chronicles Chapters 15-16
Today’s reading is all about worship, praise and celebration as the ark returns to Jerusalem. The recounting here is a shorter version of what we read earlier in 2 Samuel.
As is typical for Chronicles, the only part that’s longer than 2 Samuel is the listing of details of who exactly takes part in the various parts of the celebration.
Not only does it list the people who carried the ark, but also, as in previous days puts particular emphasis on the musicians and the doorkeepers who are involved, listing instrument players and the lead singer.
The story of David dancing with undignified enthusiasm in front of the ark, and Michal seeing and despising him for it, is abbreviated compared to 2 Samuel 6, but similar.
There is also a song of praise.

Proverbs 26:27
Whoever digs a pit will fall into it; if someone rolls a stone, it will roll back on them.
Prayer focus
God, let us be as unrestrained in our worship as David was.
