Day 305, Thursday, June 12
Neh. 6:4 – Chapter 8
Nehemiah continues to face opposition from neighboring cities, but perseveres and the wall is completed in just 52 days.
He takes a census of those who have returned to Jerusalem and appoints gatekeepers, musicians, Levites and other officials.
Then Ezra, the great teacher of the law, reads the book of the law to the people, who weep as they hear the law read. Nehemiah, Ezra and the Levites tell them not to weep, though, for it is a day of joy, not mourning.
After feasting they celebrated the festival of booths in memory of the Exodus.

“There are three things that are never satisfied, four that never say, ‘Enough!’: the grave, the barren womb, land, which is never satisfied with water, and fire, which never says, ‘Enough!’
