Harvest is plentiful
Day 350, Sunday, July 27
Luke Chapter 10 – 11:36
So often when we consider the decline in church attendance, we place the blame in the wrong place. At least according to Luke, the shortage is not in the harvest itself but in the workers who are prepared to bring it in.
We look around and we see people who are resistant to hearing God’s word, but they are only part of the story.
There are others out there who know something is missing in life and who would be open to hearing the word of God if only it were shared with them in a loving, authentic way.
We no longer live in a day when people attend church by default. Now, they have to see a reason. We can be that reason.

Sunday meditation
Job 12:1-6
Then Job replied: “Doubtless you are the only people who matter, and wisdom will die with you! But I have a mind as well as you; I am not inferior to you. Who does not know all these things?
“I have become a laughingstock to my friends, though I called on God and he answered—a mere laughingstock, though righteous and blameless! Those who are at ease have contempt for misfortune as the fate of those whose feet are slipping. The tents of marauders are undisturbed, and those who provoke God are secure—those God has in his hand.
Prayer focus
God, raise up the harvest and enlist us as workers!
