Judgment on Nineveh
Day 462, Sunday, Nov. 16
Nahum (all)
Nahum is a propesy of judgment on the city of Nineveh—a prophesy that Jonah would appreciate.
The prophet highlights both God’s patience and his justice: “The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.”
Even here God assures that his anger will not be forever. In 1:15 we read this promise, “Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.”

Sunday meditation
Psalms 27:4-6
One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.
Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.
Prayer focus
Lord, may we dwell in your house forever.
