Confidence
Day 626, Wednesday, April 29
Ephesians 2:11 – 3:13
Today continues the theme of joy in our salvation, with particular emphasis on gentiles having received a share in the promises God had made to the Jews. “For Christ himself has brought us peace by making Jews and Gentiles one people. With his own body he broke down the wall that separated them and kept them enemies. He abolished the Jewish law with its commandments and rules, in order to create out of the two races one new people in union with himself, in this way making peace.”
Because of that, we who are gentiles are no longer foreigners or strangers; we are members of the family of God. That gives us confidence to approach God. “In union with Christ and through our faith in him we have the boldness to go into God’s presence with all confidence.”

-Rev. Mark Fleming

Wednesday meditation

Psalms 119:1-8
Happy are those whose lives are faultless, who live according to the law of the Lord. Happy are those who follow his commands, who obey him with all their heart. They never do wrong; they walk in the Lord’s ways. Lord, you have given us your laws and told us to obey them faithfully. How I hope that I shall be faithful in keeping your instructions! If I pay attention to all your commands, then I will not be put to shame. As I learn your righteous judgments, I will praise you with a pure heart. I will obey your laws; never abandon me!

Prayer focus
Thank you, God, for the privilege of being able to enter boldly into your presence.
